Project Scope:The scope of the project includes the design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of a modern irrigation network, aiming to cover the irrigation needs of the area (approx. 67.800 acres total net area).
Contract duration: The duration of the Partnership Agreement has been set at 25 years.
Project Goals
The purpose of the project is the construction, maintenance, technical management and operation of an effective Integrated Irrigation Network System, which aims to:
Develop and further improve the production conditions and the business environment of the agricultural sector.
Provide an integrated, flexible, sustainable and adequate irrigation network, with an operation, appearance and cleanliness always at acceptable levels, in accordance with the applicable legislation and the quality management and assurance system.
Protect the environment and sustainably manage the natural resources used in agriculture.
Project Advantages
Upon completion of the project, the area will be irrigated with water from the existing boreholes already in operation.
Moreover, the network will integrate smart technologies (sensors and automatic switches), to optimize irrigation and minimize water losses and energy consumption/expenditure.
Overall, the project addresses the irrigation needs of the region and contributes towards the optimization of the water supply in an environmentally acceptable and sustainable manner.
